Mulikat Jadesola Amodemaja: "The city you also settled in also influences your life, your career, your family, your planning as a whole. So, if I was not in London, I don't know where I would be."

She attributes her ability to balance career and family to the city’s unique combination of opportunity and community support. Mulikat says, “I realized I wanted to stay in London when I saw how supportive and welcoming the community was, both during my time as a student and afterwards. London offers such a safe, calm environment that it made me feel that this was the right place to build my life.”
She has formed strong friendships with people from various cultural backgrounds, many of whom now feel like family. “These connections have made London feel like home,” says Mulikat. Her active engagement in community groups has enabled her to mentor and support newcomers, assisting them with errands, babysitting, finding ethnic foods, and sharing her experiences. These meaningful connections have helped make London truly feel like home. Most recently, she transitioned into an internal audit position at a leading Canadian bank, marking another positive step in her career. She continues to advocate for London as a place where others can build fulfilling lives, crediting the city for playing a pivotal role in her professional and personal satisfaction. Drawing on her own experiences, Mulikat encourages newcomers, saying, “If you are looking for a place that is peaceful, welcoming, and full of opportunity, you should strongly consider staying in London. It is a city that values diversity and community.” |
