Welcome to I Am London!

Since 2013, I Am London has been sharing the stories of immigrants who call London home. Through personal stories, we celebrate the people who have helped shape our community, challenge misconceptions about immigration, and highlight the many ways newcomers contribute to our city.

Two Centuries of Newcomers: I Am London 2026

To mark London’s bicentennial, this year’s I Am London campaign is looking back at 200 years of immigration in our community.

Two Centuries of Newcomers tells the story of London from 1826 to 2026 through ten “Faces of London,” with each person representing a different twenty-year period in the city’s history.

We’ll share a new story through December 2. Through articles, and historical research, we’ll explore the lives and contributions of immigrants who made London their home, and helped make the city what it is today.

You can also explore stories from previous I Am London campaigns in the blog posts on this page and watch our special video celebrating more than a decade of I Am London.

A community celebration of Two Centuries of Newcomers is planned for early December. More details will be announced later this fall.

Thank you for following and sharing these stories. Together, we can learn more about the people who shaped London and continue building a welcoming community for everyone.
